2025 EXTENSION REQUEST

2 MONTH EXTENSION REQUEST FOR FILING THE ANNUAL REPORT AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX RETURN

Instructions:

If you need additional time to complete your Annual Report and Personal Property Tax Return(s), you may get a 2 month filing extension provided you request the extension on this website by April 15th. If April 15th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or Maryland legal holiday as defined by §1.111 of the General Provisions Article, the deadline to file the extension request using this website will be the next succeeding day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or Maryland legal holiday. April 15, 2025 is a Tuesday.

Use this system to request an extension or to confirm that you have received an extension. You may request extensions for an unlimited number of Department ID Numbers, however you will be asked to click on the "confirm extension" button once you have entered up to 50 Department ID Numbers. You may also recall last year's confirmation number(s) in order to resubmit them for the current year. If using the recall function you are able to add or remove a Department ID Number(s) before resubmitting the current year request.

Please do not submit multiple extension requests for the same Department ID Number(s). If you use this system, it will indicate that an extension has already been granted.

Once you have requested an extension using this system, the Annual Report and Personal Property Tax Return must be received by the Department no later than June 15, 2025 is a Sunday, so June 16, 2025 will be the deadline.

SDAT encourages all filers to submit Annual Report online through Maryland Business Express. To file your Annual Report online, please visit: https://egov.maryland.gov/BusinessExpress/.

First time users, please review the instructions for help using this system. You may also sign up to receive annual email reminders to submit these and other important filings.

NOTE: Entities formed in 2025 do not need to file an Annual Report until 2026
